Susan Damick (Studio Owner/Director):
Susan Damick first fell in love with dance at the age of three at Helen and Jane’s, a well known dance studio in Geneva, NY. She continued dancing there throughout her school years and later became an assistant teacher during high school. Susan spent summers training with professional dancers (Debbie Dee, Frank Hatchett, Ann Marie Leo, Robbie Mackey, and Jo Rowan) in New York City to broaden her training and experiences in dance. After high school she attended SUNY Brockport to continue her dance education. While at college, she took master classes with guest teachers Alvin Ailey and Twyla Tharp, and also participated in faculty and student performances. Susan graduated with a BA in dance. After graduation she returned to Geneva, became an instructor at Helen and Jane’s, and obtained her DEA (Dance Educators of America) certificate. When her daughter Paige was born in 1992, her husband renovated the barn on their home property into a dance studio so she could teach the love of dance to all those who enter through its doors. Susan wishes to keep the art of dance alive for children of all ages in her hometown.
Paige Damick
Paige Damick was born and raised in Geneva, NY. She grew up in the dimensions in DANCE studio and discovered her love for dance with the guidance of her mother, Susan Damick. Paige began her dance teaching journey as a teaching assistant at dimensions in DANCE at age 12. She attended master classes with the DEA, the Rockettes, the broadway cast of Hairspray, and choreographer Mandy Moore. After graduating from high school, Paige continued her education at FLCC. While earning her associates degree she continued to teach at the studio and brought her choreographed pieces to competition. One of her routines won best choreography, and another dance won a scholarship to NYC (where the dancers attended mock auditions and the Alvin Ailey dance studio). Paige has also choreographed for local high school productions and local community theatre programs. Her main goal is to instill her love for dance among her students.
Anina Olsen
Anina has been an Occupational Therapist for 28 years, with WFL BOCES for the past 16 years. She started her dance career with Helen and Jane’s Dance Studio in Geneva (where she met Susan) through high school and continued into college. When Sue opened dimensions in DANCE, Anina came to her for a student internship, which she stayed and has worked there ever since. Anina has an Associates of Arts degree from SUNY Morrisville (‘93), and a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy (‘96). She passed her Dance Educators of America practical certification in 1997. Anina has been active in musical theater since high school and has been choreographer in many productions since 2000. When she isn’t working or dancing, she has spent much time at sporting events, rehearsals, race tracks, and being a chauffeur for her 3 children. She and Sue have spent MANY years together (and watched Paige grow up) doing what we love the best - Dance!
